100 Knowledge Towns: New England

A field guide to the institutions, places and opportunities shaping the next generation of New England communities.

39/ 100 published

Any town, neighborhood or city can become a Knowledge Town.

Colleges, universities and healthcare systems anchor city neighborhoods, suburban corridors, historic towns and small cities across New England. Yet housing shortages, demographic pressure, campus transition and fragmented project delivery leave much of that institutional capacity disconnected from everyday opportunity.

The Atlas tests one proposition across those different place types: reconnect housing, learning, work, health, mobility and community by using existing land, buildings and institutions as platforms for practical renewal.
